UnitedHealth proposes buying Chilean healthcare company

Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group signed a nonbinding agreement to purchase all shares of Banmedica SA, a health insurance and clinic operator in Chile, Reuters reports.

The total value of the proposed transaction was not provided. The price offered in the acquisition bid was $3.47 per share.

Banmedica’s shares rose 3.7 percent on Friday following the announcement, the report states.
