1. UnitedHealth Group completed its acquisition of Change Healthcare Oct. 3, which merges its Optum arm with the healthcare data and analytics company. A Washington, D.C., federal judge in September cleared the path for UnitedHealth Group to move forward with the $7.8 billion acquisition that had been highly scrutinized by the federal government.
2. Venture capital firm TPG Capital completed its acquisition of Change Healthcare's ClaimsXten for $2.2 billion on Oct. 10. In April, UnitedHealth committed to selling ClaimsXten to the venture capital firm to resolve concerns of anticompetitive behavior amid a Justice Department challenge of the merger between Optum and Change Healthcare.
