UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty earned $26.3 million in total compensation in 2024.
The company disclosed pay information for its highest-paid employees in its annual proxy report published April 21.
Mr. Witty’s pay increased around 12% from 2023, when he was paid $23.5 million in total compensation. He was the highest paid CEO among major health insurers in 2024.
UnitedHealth increased spending on executive security in the wake of the murder of former UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, according to the proxy report. For example, the company spent nearly $1 million on security for Optum CEO Heather Cianfrocco.
