UnitedHealth Group founder to retire from board of directors 

UnitedHealth Group’s founder is retiring from the payer’s board of directors, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported April 26.

Richard Burke is scheduled to retire June 6, according to the report. He was first named to the board in 1977. 

He served as CEO of the company until stepping down in 1987, according to the report. 

Gail Wilensky, who has served on the board since 1993, is also retiring, according to the report.
