UnitedHealth backs $3M initiative to address pediatric health equity

UnitedHealth Group's philanthropic arm is putting $3 million toward a new partnership to address health inequity with Minneapolis-based Children's Minnesota.

According to a Jan. 27 news release, the three-year partnership will address disparities in care for underserved children and families in the Twin Cities, where UnitedHealth Group is headquartered.

The initiative will address asthma, vaccinations and mental healthcare through culturally responsive care partnerships, including with local school districts, according to the news release.

The UnitedHealth Foundation also recently said it would put $10 million toward community development initiatives in Appalachia.
