UnitedHealth provides humanitarian aid to Israel, Gaza

The United Health Foundation is donating $1 million toward humanitarian aid for civilians affected by the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

According to a Nov. 13 news release, the philanthropic arm of UnitedHealth Group will donate to Save the Children and Direct Relief to provide food, water and medical supplies in Israel and Gaza.

"We are all devastated by the ongoing human suffering in Israel and Gaza," Patricia Lewis, executive vice president and chief sustainability officer at UnitedHealth Group, said in the release. "Our thoughts are especially with the 120 UnitedHealth Group employees based in Israel, who fear for the safety of their family and friends. We hope this funding can assist with humanitarian relief efforts throughout the region."
