UCare names new CEO

Minneapolis-based UCare selected Hilary Marden-Resnik as the organization's next president and CEO following a five-month period as interim president and CEO.

Prior to her interim role, Ms. Marden-Resnik served as UCare’s senior vice president and chief administrative officer, according to a March 22 press release.

Ms. Marden-Resnik joined UCare after a decades-long career working for Minnesota healthcare providers. She was vice president of human resources at Hennepin County Medical Center and held positions as director of human resources for St. Paul-based HealthEast, human resources manager for Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services, and employment and health law attorney for the Gray Plant Mooty law firm.

"Hilary embodies the type of leader UCare needs at this exciting juncture," James Pacala, MD, UCare board chair, said. "She understands how UCare needs to grow and evolve to meet our strategic priorities and support our employees, members, providers, and community and regulatory partners."

The independent nonprofit focuses exclusively on public health plans and does not sell policies to employers. It currently serves 630,000 customers in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
