U of Iowa Health joins HealthPartners’ provider network

The University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City will be considered an in-network provider for Medicare patients with health insurance through HealthPartners UnityPoint Health’s health plan, according to The Gazette.

A new agreement, effective Jan. 1, will add U of Iowa Health, including the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, to the provider network of West Des Moines, Iowa-based HealthPartners UnityPoint. As a result, Medicare patients with HealthPartners UnityPoint coverage will get to access U of Iowa Health services at in-network rates.

In total, HealthPartners UnityPoint’s Medicare members will gain access to 1,700 clinicians across more than 200 specialties at U of Iowa Health, according to the report.
