Proxy statements for 2021 have been filed for the nation's largest payers, including the public release of CEO salaries and compensation packages.

Compensation packages consist of salary, stock awards, option awards, non-equity incentive plan compensation and other sources.

Here are the seven highest-paid payer CEOs in 2021 ranked from highest to lowest compensation change:

1. Anthem President and CEO Gail Boudreaux

2020 total compensation package: $17,109,952

Percent change: 13.1 percent increase

 

2. Molina Healthcare President and CEO Joseph Zubretsky

2021 total compensation package: $19,961,698

2020 total compensation package: $17,812,327

Percent change: 12.1 percent increase

 

3. UnitedHealth Group CEO Andrew Witty

2021 total compensation package: $18,433,143  

2020 total compensation package: $17,872,713 to former CEO David Wichmann

Percent change: 3.1 percent increase

 

4. Humana President and CEO Bruce Broussard

2021 total compensation package: $16,528,036

2020 total compensation package: $16,489,639

Percent change: 0.2 percent increase
