Startup Medicare Advantage plans accounted for 1.9% of total MA enrollment in 2025, according to a report from Chartis.
This rate represents an increase from 1.6% in 2024 and 0.8% in 2020. Gold Kidney Health Plan, a company offering plans to individuals with end-stage renal disease, more than tripled its enrollment from 2024 to 2025.
Alignment Healthcare saw the overall largest enrollment of any startup plan, at 209,200.
Chartis published its analysis of CMS enrollment data March 25.
