Kaiser Permanente and UnitedHealthcare have tied as the best U.S. health insurance companies in 2025, according to Insure.com’s annual ranking.

In the final 1 through 5 score, 60 percent came from member survey results, 25 percent from NCQA member satisfaction ratings, and 15% from National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ complaint data.

The survey portion of the ranking was conducted in late 2024 and asked 1,750 customers about their health plan across multiple categories, including ease of service and policy offerings.

The research was a collaboration with the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. The 2024 rankings are here.
