States with highest, lowest Medicare Advantage premiums | 2025

Average Medicare Advantage premiums in 2025 range from $2.44 in Nevada to $62.25 in Minnesota. 

Nationwide, the average Medicare Advantage monthly premium in 2025 will be $17, down from $18.23 in 2024, according to a Sept. 27 CMS news release. 

In most states, 100% of enrollees have access to a Medicare Advantage plan with no monthly premium. 

Here are the states with the highest and lowest average monthly premiums in 2025: 

Lowest month premiums: 

  1. Nevada: $2.44
  2. Florida: $4.33
  3. New Mexico: $5.56
  4. Texas: $6.81
  5. Arkansas: $7.74
  6. Arizona: $8.10
  7. Illinois: $8.39
  8. Kansas: $11.93
  9. Utah: $12.16
  10. Colorado: $12.20

Highest monthly premiums: 

  1. Wyoming: $29.86
  2. Maryland: $30.92
  3. Vermont: $31.70
  4. Massachusetts: $33.91
  5. District of Columbia: $37.89
  6. South Dakota: $39.76
  7. New York: $42.90
  8. Hawaii: $47.51
  9. North Dakota: $49.67
  10. Minnesota: $62.25
