New Mexico had the highest percentage of residents enrolled in Medicaid in 2022, while Utah had the lowest, according to new data released by the Census Bureau Sept. 14 as part of its American Community Survey. The national Medicaid enrollment rate was 21.2 percent.
The data does not reflect the millions of people removed from Medicaid during the redeterminations process, which began in April.
