Senators pen bipartisan letter to support, strengthen Medicare Advantage

A bipartisan group of 63 senators wrote a letter to HHS declaring their support for Medicare Advantage in the short and long term.

The letter not only supports Medicare Advantage as a whole, but proposed changes to the program issued in a Feb. 2 advanced notice.

"We are committed to ensuring that our constituents who rely on Medicare Advantage enjoy the same access to affordable benefits in order to get the care they need, particularly as they navigate the persistent challenges of the pandemic," the lawmakers wrote. "We look forward to partnering with you and working on behalf of the tens of millions of older adults and people with disabilities whose health and economic security are protected under this program."

The new letter follows a statement of support from 346 House lawmakers also backing Medicare Advantage.
