Premier Health terminates agreement to sell insurance branch: 4 things to know

Washington, D.C.-based Evolent Health, a value-based care platform, will no longer purchase Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health’s insurance arm, Evolent officials said Dec. 8.

Here are four things to know about the defunct deal.

1. Premier Health and Evolent ended negotiations because they could not agree on the terms of the deal. 

2. Despite the termination, Evolent will continue to provide administrative services for Premier Health’s employee self-insured, Medicare Advantage and commercial large group plans.

3. Evolent Health announced plans to acquire Premier Health’s insurance arm Nov. 2.
