The University of Alaska Anchorage and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium will receive part of the investments over a three-year period. A rural grant-making program involving the Rasmuson Foundation and The Alaska Community Foundation will also be created using the investments.
The Rural Health Care Fund at The Alaska Community Foundation will total $3 million. Funds will be used for grants ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 for medical equipment and other projects in hospitals, outpatient facilities and community health centers, according to the insurer.
