The two-hospital health system, which employs more than 3,000 employees and more than 270 providers, is reducing the cost by eliminating home host deductibles and coinsurance for 2022 on its applicable preferred provider organization health plans, according to a Jan. 27 news release.
The health system said staffing challenges and the need to recruit and retain workers contributed to the change.
“Despite the escalating cost of healthcare benefits, we value the service of our employees — especially during the pandemic — and our goal is consistent with our mission to retain and recruit the best talent in every aspect of our operations,” Butler Health System President and CEO Ken DeFurio said in the release.
The health system is recruiting for various roles, including technical support and bedside positions.
