Oscar Health expands South Florida, Chicago-area reach with new partnerships

New York City-based startup Oscar Health announced Sept. 30 a pair of partnerships that tie into market expansions.

Partnerships with four Chicago-area health systems — Edward-Elmhurst Health, Loyola Medicine, NorthShore University HealthSystem and University of Chicago Medicine — expand Oscar Health’s reach to three counties starting in 2022, according to a news release

Oscar Health is also partnering with South Florida-based University of Miami and Jackson Health Systems to expand its reach into Miami-Dade County, the insurer announced Sept. 30.

Both partnerships will benefit individual and family health plans in the area. Plans are anticipated to be available on the federal health insurance exchange, with coverage beginning Jan. 1.
