Oscar Health members interact with the insurer through several digital tools and a virtual primary care system. Examples of Oscar’s capabilities include its telemedicine platform, online appointment scheduling with in-network physicians, and direct messaging about lab results, benefits and diagnoses with care teams.
The insurer expanded its 2018 membership by 150 percent compared to 2017, enrolling 255,000 members across six states, according to CNBC. Oscar significantly expanded its ACA exchange presence in Ohio, Texas, New Jersey, Tennessee and California for 2018. In Ohio, Oscar Health’s joint health plan with Cleveland Clinic enrolled more than 11,000 members for 2018, its first year of operation.
