The platform prioritizes digital-first health plans, like Firefly Health, which used its platform to launch health plans within six months.

“Flume’s focus on simplifying health plan design and management is critical to helping create health plans that truly fit the lifestyle and needs of consumers,” said Jon Sklaroff, principal of Optum Ventures. “We believe their health plan administration tool, built on a modern digital architecture, will enable companies to deliver individualized health plans and personalized healthcare at scale.”

In addition to the payers, Route 66 Ventures, Accomplice, Founder Collective, Primary Venture Partners and ERA’s Remarkable Ventures Fund also contributed to the investment.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
