Optima Health, FinFit partner to offer Medicaid members financial counseling tools

Optima Health is partnering with Virginia Beach, Va.-based fintech company FinFit to provide Medicaid enrollees with access to financial management resources.

The partnership looks to stabilize members' financial well-being and address food, transportation, housing and other insecurities through social determinants of health analytics, according to a March 28 press release.

"Optima Health works to address the needs of our members around social determinants of health. Financial literacy is one of the SDOH that impacts our membership. The stress that money, or lack thereof, can bring to a person or family affects their physical and mental health," said Traci Massie, director of government programs for Optima Health. "To address this need, Optima Health is partnering with FinFit, a financial wellness solution with tools to help our Medicaid members manage and understand their finances, including one-on-one financial counseling."

Optima Health will have daily, weekly and monthly datasets from SDOH analytics to use for outreach programs and address immediate needs of Medicaid members.
