Number of people signed up for Marketplace coverage, by state

Because of the American Rescue Plan, 14.5 million Americans enrolled in a Marketplace plan during the 2022 open enrollment period, representing a 21 percent national increase over 2021, the White House said.

Texas and Georgia saw the biggest increase in enrollment, with a 42 percent and 36 percent increase over 2021.

Americans saved $800 per person on premiums last year through the American Rescue Plan, according to a March 10 news release from the White House.

During the 2021 special enrollment and open enrollment periods, 5.8 million people enrolled, according to the release. Between 2016 and 2019, 3.6 million people lost coverage.
