Number of counties without ACA marketplace insurer falls to 2

CMS projects two U.S. counties will have no payers offering coverage on ACA marketplaces in 2018.

One county is located in Wisconsin and one in Ohio. At least 381 Americans with coverage through the exchanges live in the counties.

The agency also estimates 45 percent of U.S. counties, or 1,486, will only have one insurer offering on-exchange coverage next year.
