Mary Strother has been elected to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts' board of directors.
Ms. Strother is senior vice president and general counsel at Northeastern University in Boston, where she also leads the offices of labor relations and public safety, according to a March 14 press release.
"I am honored to join the Blue Cross board," Ms. Strother said. "I look forward to helping the company advance its mission of creating a high quality, affordable, and equitable health care experience for its members and employer customers."
Ms. Strother is currently on the board's audit committee and healthcare quality and affordability committee.
Previously, Ms. Strother served as first assistant attorney general of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and worked for two decades at Boston-based law firm WilmerHale.
