The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is delaying the implementation of its Medicaid managed care behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities tailored plans until April 1.

The tailored plans provide the same services as standard Medicaid managed care plans while providing additional specialized services, according to a Sept. 29 news release.

The plans were scheduled to launch Dec. 1, according to the release. The delay will allow managed care organizations and local management entities operating the plans more time to contract with additional providers to support member choice and validate that data systems are working properly.
