Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo and the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services have announced the launch of the Nevada Health Authority, effective July 1.
The NVHA consolidates the state’s Medicaid program, ACA exchange, and public employees’ benefits program under one agency. It will be led by the state’s Medicaid administrator.
“This new authority will help Nevada capitalize on its strong purchasing power when it comes to health insurance and get a better deal for taxpayers, all while offering better insurance options for eligible Nevadans,” Gov. Lombardo said in a news release.
