According to the 2022 Kaiser Family Foundation Employer Benefit Survey, just 13 percent of employers with more than 200 employees offer retirees health benefits, but Medicare Advantage is becoming more popular among those who do.
Among firms with more than 1,000 employees, the most commonly cited reason to use Medicare Advantage was that it is less expensive than other programs.
According to the report, firms often choose Medicare Advantage plans to lower their own financial liability in providing retirees healthcare.
