Fairview Health Services will stop scheduling patients with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans effective Jan. 1, 2027.
The Minneapolis-based health system said frequent coverage changes, denials and payment issues have made it harder for patients to access care.
“We understand this change creates uncertainty and frustration. Our goal is to support patients with clear information and individualized guidance,” Fairview wrote on its website.
The system said its in-network MA options will continue to include BCBS Minnesota, HealthPartners and Medica.
“We are committed to using the more than six months remaining on our contract to reach an agreement that maintains long-term network access to Fairview Health for people enrolled in our Medicare Advantage plans,” a spokesperson for UnitedHealthcare told Becker’s.
