Total enrollment reflects the Feb. 1 payment date, and payments reflect accepted enrollments through Jan. 6.
According to healthcare consulting group Chartis, total Medicare enrollment in 2023 is 63.8 million beneficiaries. The CMS report showed total MA enrollment at 30.9 million, along with more than 308,000 Medicare-Medicaid plans.
MA has been predicted to overtake traditional Medicare enrollment in 2023. Under current growth, the program is expected to make up 69 percent of all Medicare enrollments by 2030.
A record 3,998 MA plans are available nationwide in 2023, up 6 percent from the previous year, and the average beneficiary has 43 plans to choose from, up from 38 in 2022.
