During his speech, Mr. McConnell called on hospitals to oppose Medicare for All on Capitol Hill. “This radical scheme would be serious bad news for America’s hospital industry,” he said, adding, “You should not be the guinea pigs in some far left social experiment.”
Mr. McConnell’s speech was well received by hospital leaders, who largely oppose the idea and see it as a possible payment cut to hospitals, according to The Hill.
Mr. McConnell has shifted to attacking Medicare for All proposals in an effort to direct attention away from Republicans’ efforts to repeal and replace the ACA toward what he sees as a weakness among Democrats, according to the report.
