Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is touting the expansion as a way to boost workforce participation.
“One of the major obstacles in getting some people into the workforce is they’re simply not healthy enough to do it,” Mr. Beshear told the Courier-Journal.
The vast majority of the expansion will be paid for by the federal government and will have no significant impact on the state’s budget, Mr. Beshear said.
