Johns Hopkins HealthCare rebranding as Johns Hopkins Health Plans

Johns Hopkins HealthCare, the insurance arm of Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine, is rebranding as Johns Hopkins Health Plans.

In a July 12 news release, the organization said the name change reflects its growing membership and geographic footprint.

"Our new name better captures our core business, which is helping our plan members access the top-tier healthcare and the celebrated clinical and research assets of Johns Hopkins," J.P. Holland, CEO of Johns Hopkins Health Plans, said in the release.

Johns Hopkins Health Plans has 470,000 members across Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, a health plan for military members and a commercial plan for Johns Hopkins medicine employees.
