Humana's top execs could collectively make $75M if M&A deal occurs 

Humana's top executives could collectively be paid more than $75 million if they leave the company or a change in control occurs, according to regulatory documents filed with the SEC on March 8.

In November, the Wall Street Journal reported that Cigna and Humana were "in talks" to merge by the end of 2023, which was called off by December. 

According to the filing, Humana CEO Bruce Broussard could earn $44.7 million if a change of control in the company occurred or he left the company. The payment would include $25 million in accelerated restricted stock units, $11.3 million in severance pay, $3.8 million in supplemental retirement benefits and $3.3 million in vested stock options.

  • Chief Legal Officer Joseph Ventura: $8.1 million
  • President of Medicare and Medicaid George Renaudin: $6.8 million
  • CenterWell President Sanjay Shetty, MD: $3.8 million
