Under the new arrangement, Humana will tie payments to SMG’s subsidiary, Hawaii Senior Medical Group, to health outcomes of the insurer’s Medicare Advantage members.
The new contract will add 95 HSMG physicians to Humana’s Medicare Advantage provider network beginning Jan. 1.
The agreement is part of a larger relationship with SMG, a Korean American group that includes more than 3,400 physicians. SMG operates across Hawaii, California, Washington, Georgia and New Jersey.
