- Anthem reported total revenues of $33.3 billion, a 14.1 percent increase from the same period last year. Anthem ended the second quarter with a $1.8 billion profit, a 21.2 percent decrease from the $2.3 billion the insurer recorded in the same period of 2020.
- Centene saw a $535 million net loss in the second quarter. The payer had total revenues of $31 billion for the quarter, a 12 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
- Humana saw its total revenues climb to $20.6 billion, an 8.2 percent increase from its 2020 second-quarter numbers. Humana’s profit decreased from $1.83 billion in 2020 to $588 million in 2021.
- Molina Healthcare brought in $185 million in net income during its second quarter, a 33 percent decrease from its second-quarter earnings of $276 million in 2020. The company reported premium revenues of $6.6 billion, a 51 percent increase from 2020.
- UnitedHealth Group‘s revenue increased 15 percent year over year to $71.3 billion. The company ended the quarter with a $4.3 billion profit, a 36 percent decrease from $6.6 billion a year prior.
