Highmark Health Plans post $130M operating income in Q1

The insurance segment of Highmark Health reported $130 million in operating income for the first three months of the year, according to a company earnings report posted May 31.

Highmark remains the largest payer in Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia, and western New York. Health plan membership grew 2.5 percent year over year to 7 million.

Highmark Health reported $6.7 billion in revenue for the first quarter and $227 million in net income.
