Health insurer stock report: Week of Sept. 5-8

Three major commercial payers saw their stock prices fall last week.

Indianapolis-based Anthem saw its share price drop the most at 1.8 percent.

Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna saw its share price increase the most at 2.9 percent.

Here is how the five health insurers fared, as of Sept. 8. 

  • Aetna (Hartford, Conn.): $162.83 per share (up 2.9 percent)
  • Anthem (Indianapolis): $193.85 per share (down 1.8 percent)
  • Cigna (Bloomfield, Conn.): $184.56 per share (up 0.8 percent)
  • Humana (Louisville, Ky.): $256.56 per share (down 0.8 percent)
  • UnitedHealth Group (Minnetonka, Minn.): $197.75 per share (down 1 percent)
