Health insurer stock report: Week of Aug. 7-11

Three of the five major commercial payers saw their stock prices fall last week.

Hartford, Conn.-based Aetna saw the greatest decrease in share price at 3 percent.

Louisville, Ky.-based Humana saw share prices rise the most at 1.7 percent.

Here is how the five health insurers fared, as of Aug. 11. 

  • Aetna (Hartford, Conn.): $152.15 per share (down 3 percent)
  • Anthem (Indianapolis): $189.43 per share (down 0.6 percent)
  • Cigna (Bloomfield, Conn.): $174.38 per share (up 1.1 percent)
  • Humana (Louisville, Ky.): $249.99 per share (up 1.7 percent)
  • UnitedHealth Group (Minnetonka, Minn.): $193.02 per share (down 1 percent)
