The expansion is particularly targeting rural and underserved communities, according to the Aug. 10 announcement.
Alongside the move, HCSC is bolstering its network, adding 19,000 physicians and 2,800 hospitals and other medical facilities throughout the five states it serves — Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Montana.

This expansion continues our focus on that longstanding commitment by broadening our Medicare footprint.”
