Patina Health, a startup providing in-home care for older adults, is expanding to Aetna, UnitedHealth and Cigna Medicare Advantage members, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Dec. 19.
The startup, based in Bala Cynwyd, Pa., was founded in 2020 with backing from Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures and other firms. The company was previously only available to Independence Blue Cross Medicare Advantage members, the newspaper reported.
Patina Health has around 100 employees, and typically sends nurses or nurse practitioners to patients' homes to address primary care needs. The nurses have the ability to call in a physician when necessary, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Adding three major payers will expand the startup's patient base to around 250,000, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
