Former New York nurse sues Anthem in overtime dispute

A former nurse has filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Anthem over alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York labor law, according to Law Street Media.

The former nurse was employed in utilization review by Anthem between April 2012 and January 2017, according to the lawsuit. She alleges that she routinely worked more than 40 hours a week without receiving overtime pay.

She alleges Anthem knew that she and others worked unpaid overtime because they complained to the company about the long hours and workload, according to the lawsuit. The former nurse alleges that Anthem did not keep adequate records of the hours she and others worked, despite a legal obligation to do so.
