A pair of proposals would expand income eligibility beyond the current cap, which is 200 percent above the federal poverty line, or about $44,000 in annual income for a single mother of two children, according to Florida Politics

One proposal would increase the cap by 10 percent annually until it reaches 250 percent above the federal poverty line while another would increase the cap to 400 percent.

However, the first bill would require families to pay a $40 premium for all children while the second would charge $200 premiums per child up to $800.
