Nonprofit Medicare Advantage plans added 200,000 members for 2025, according to an analysis from Chartis.
The healthcare consulting group published a March 25 report analyzing Medicare Advantage enrollment data from CMS.
Non-Blue Cross Blue Shield nonprofit plans accounted for around 15% of enrollment growth in 2025, and BCBS plans accounted for 30% of new enrollments. Together, BCBS and nonprofit plans made up nearly half of all enrollment growth, a larger share than in previous years, according to Chartis.
Cleveland-based Medical Mutual of Ohio saw the largest enrollment growth of any nonprofit plan for 2025.
Here are the five nonprofit plans with the largest enrollment growth:
- Medical Mutual of Ohio: 59,000
- Healthfirst: 50,000
- UCare: 34,000
- SCAN Group: 20,000
- VNS Health Health Plans: 15,000
