Evernorth adds new digital health offerings for mental health, substance use disorders

Evernorth Health, Cigna's health services arm, is adding new apps to help plan members manage insomnia, anxiety, alcohol and opioid use disorders and inflammatory conditions. 

According to a Sept. 15 news release, the additions to Evernorth's Digital Health Formulary are reviewed by physicians, pharmacists and user experience experts. 

The new products include: 

  • Big Health's Sleepio for insomnia
  • Big Health's Daylight for anxiety
  • Quit Genius for alcohol use disorder
  • Quit Genius for opioid use disorder
  • HealthBeacon's injectable care management system for inflammatory conditions

"The Digital Health Formulary is one of the ways we can connect employers, insurers and patients with innovative, affordable, and evidence-based care that meet their broader health care needs," Glen Stettin, MD, Evernorth's chief innovation officer, said in the release. 

Evernorth is also piloting digital programs for other areas, including oncology, psoriasis and eczema, women's pelvic health and medication treatment. 

According to the release, each of Evernorth's digital offerings saves more than $120,000 in administrative costs.
