Empire BlueCross BlueShield and Empire Blue Cross will rebrand as Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem Blue Cross in 2024.
In a June 14 news release, the company said the change will not have any impact on members, including benefits and networks.
Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, which operates in downstate New York, and Empire Blue Cross, which operates upstate, have been affiliated with Elevance Health's Anthem brand since 2006.
"The Anthem name has become synonymous with a commitment to whole health and better represents our commitment to materially and measurably improve the health of all we serve," Victor DeStefano, interim president of Empire BlueCross BlueShield, said in the news release.
