On average, ACA enrollees nationwide had in-network access to 40% of local physicians in 2021, while 27% of practicing physicians were not a part of any ACA network.
KFF analyzed physician networks in the 30 counties with the highest ACA enrollments, which represent 34% of all ACA enrollees and 21% of the total U.S. population.
