Effective Jan. 1 2022, the commercial plan is the first of its kind to receive the designation, which excluded qualifying plans from merit-based incentive payment system reporting requirements and payment adjustment, according to CMS

As a result, providers who contract with the state will receive greater Medicare reimbursement, according to an Oct. 7 news release

The designation is credited to the plan’s Episodes of Care program, which is administered by Signify Health and reaches 220,000 members. Episodes of Care launched in October 2020.
