The carrier, which offers plans both on and off the state exchange, said the retail store is staffed with ConnectiCare consultants who can assist customers on how to file a claim or find a provider.
“We see these centers as another way for us to deliver … high-quality service,” David Gordon, senior vice president of strategy and innovation at ConnectiCare, said in a statement.
Representatives from Access Health CT, the state-run insurance exchange, commended the health plan for its community-based approach to member education. In a statement, Access Health CEO James Wadleigh called the retail store a “positive development for customer experience” through in-person education and support services.
The health plan expects to open three more retail locations in CliniSanitas Medical Centers in Newington, Bridgeport and Orange, Conn.
