Community Hospital in Colorado, University of Utah launch health plan

Grand Junction, Colo.-based Community Hospital and Salt Lake City-based University of Utah rolled out a health plan Tuesday, The Daily Sentinel reports.

The coverage, called the Grand Valley Preferred Network, will be available for employers with at least five employees. Grand Valley Preferred Network will cover services administered at Community and St. Mary’s. Services for patients traveling to the University of Utah for specialized care will also be covered. 

Officials want the plan to compete with Rocky Mountain Health Plans and Monument Health, a plan offered by two Grand Junction providers: St. Mary’s Hospital and Primary Care Partners.
