CMS is still seeking input on the effects of waivers and flexibilities provided during the federal public health emergency. The deadline is Nov. 4.

CMS first said Sept. 6 it is looking for input from stakeholders across the healthcare system on accessing healthcare and related challenges, provider experiences, and health equity, in addition to comments on the PHE.

HHS recently extended the PHE until at least Jan. 11, 2023.

When the PHE is over, several pandemic-era provisions will end, including continuous Medicaid enrollment, telehealth flexibilities, and government-purchased COVID vaccines and treatments.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Fall Payer Issues Roundtable, taking place November 17–19 in Chicago, payer executives and healthcare leaders will come together to discuss value-based care, regulatory changes, cost management strategies and innovations shaping the future of payer-provider collaboration.
